The VALUE COLLECTION S04186045 is a crimped-wire cup brush designed for surface preparation, weld cleaning, rust removal, and scale stripping on metal workpieces. The brush features a 3-inch diameter cup profile with 0.015-inch diameter steel wire fill and a coarse grade rating, making it well suited for aggressive material removal passes. A 1/4-inch shank arbor is included, allowing direct chuck-mount in standard pneumatic or electric die grinders and drills. Maximum rated speed is 6,000 RPM. Wire trim length is 20 millimeters. Weight is 1 pound. Trade professionals in HVAC, plumbing, welding, and general mechanical work reach for this brush when prepping pipe ends, cleaning heat exchanger surfaces, or removing oxidation from fittings before brazing or soldering.
This cup brush fits residential and light commercial maintenance applications where a die grinder or drill-mounted abrasive tool is required. It performs well on ferrous metals and is commonly used for deburring weld beads, stripping mill scale from steel pipe, and surface-conditioning metal flanges before coating or sealing. The included 1/4-inch shank makes it compatible with the majority of die grinders and variable-speed drills used in the trades without requiring an adapter. Coarse grade fill ensures fast, aggressive stock removal on moderate to heavy surface contamination.
Designed for use with die grinders and corded or cordless drills accepting a 1/4-inch shank bit, which is standard across most pneumatic and electric hand tools used in the trades.
A licensed or qualified tradesperson should follow all applicable OSHA and tool-manufacturer guidelines when mounting and operating wire cup brushes. Disconnect power or depressurize the air supply before mounting or removing the brush from the tool. Never exceed the 6,000 RPM maximum rated speed marked for this brush, and always verify the tool's free-speed rating does not exceed that limit before use. Eye protection and appropriate PPE are required during operation, as wire bristles can shed under load.
