The VALUE COLLECTION RNBS38-8 is a non-insulated circular ring terminal designed for crimp-style wire termination at 2 AWG (38 square millimeters). Manufactured with a copper contact, this terminal provides a reliable, low-resistance connection at bolted stud points in electrical panels, battery systems, grounding applications, and heavy-gauge wiring assemblies. The ring barrel accepts 2 AWG conductors and the 5/16-inch stud hole fits standard hex hardware. Overall length is 1.535 inches with a ring width of 0.602 inches and a contact thickness of 0.071 inches. Electricians and electrical contractors install this terminal where a secure, permanent ring-lug connection is required on larger-gauge conductors.
This ring terminal is suited for residential, commercial, and light industrial electrical work wherever 2 AWG wire must be terminated to a threaded stud or bus bar. Typical applications include battery cable terminations, grounding conductor connections, inverter and transfer switch wiring, and service entrance work. The non-insulated design is appropriate where terminals will receive a separate heat-shrink or tape sleeve, or where code allows exposed copper lug connections at accessible terminal blocks and lugs. Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with NEC requirements for conductor terminations and equipment grounding. De-energize and lock out the circuit before stripping conductors or installing ring terminals. Use a ratcheting crimping tool rated for 2 AWG terminals to achieve a consistent, gas-tight crimp — do not use pliers or non-rated tools as they will not produce a reliable mechanical connection. Inspect the crimped barrel for full conductor insertion and uniform compression before torquing the stud fastener to the equipment manufacturer specification.
