The VALUE COLLECTION RCL-308 is a general purpose limit switch designed for position sensing and circuit control in industrial and mechanical applications. It features a single-pole double-throw (SPDT) contact form with a normally closed (NC) configuration, making it well suited for detecting end-of-travel positions or safety interlock functions. The plunger-style actuator is located at the top of the switch body and terminals are screw type for secure, field-serviceable wiring connections. The body construction combines metal and plastic components. Licensed electricians, controls technicians, and maintenance electricians are the primary installers of this device.
This limit switch is suited for general purpose control applications across light industrial machinery, conveyor systems, automated equipment, and similar setups where mechanical actuation triggers a circuit change. The top-mounted plunger actuator is ideal for vertical or linear actuation scenarios where a moving part contacts the switch directly. The NC contact configuration means the circuit is closed at rest and opens upon actuation, a common requirement for safety shutoff and overtravel detection circuits. It ships individually and is sold as a single unit.
Designed as a general purpose OEM-style or replacement limit switch for use in industrial control, machine safety, and position-sensing circuits where a top-mount plunger actuator with SPDT NC contacts and screw terminals is required.
Installation should be performed by a licensed electrician or qualified controls technician. De-energize and lock out the equipment circuit before mounting or wiring the switch per NFPA 70E lockout/tagout procedures. Secure the switch body firmly so the plunger aligns with the actuating surface and achieves full travel without binding. Verify terminal screw torque is consistent with the enclosure or panel manufacturer specifications before returning the circuit to service.
