The VALUE COLLECTION R82234942 is a 1/4-20 hex head cap screw with a 1-1/4-inch length under head, manufactured from 18-8 stainless steel with no finish coating applied. The 18-8 alloy provides solid corrosion resistance in wet, outdoor, and chemically active environments without the need for plating or surface treatment. The UNC (Unified National Coarse) thread form is the standard for general mechanical fastening in North American trade applications. This fastener is suited for use by maintenance technicians, HVAC installers, plumbers, and electricians who need a reliable stainless hardware option for equipment panels, brackets, and mechanical assemblies.
This hex head cap screw is used across residential and light commercial trade work wherever a 1/4-20 coarse-thread fastener is required. Common applications include securing electrical enclosures, mounting HVAC components and brackets, attaching plumbing support hardware, and general mechanical assembly where corrosion resistance matters. The standard hex head drive accepts a 7/16-inch wrench or socket, making it compatible with standard hand tools found in any trade kit. Sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10 pieces.
Designed as a standard 1/4-20 UNC hex head cap screw for use in any application requiring 18-8 stainless steel fasteners conforming to MS 34307-341D, MS 35307-303D, MS 35307-305D, MS 35307-306D, MS 35307-307D, MS 35307-308D, MS 35307-310D, MS 35307-312D, MS 35307-313D, MS 35307-314D, MS 35307-316D, MS 35307-318D, MS 35307-331D, MS 35307-334D, MS 35307-336D, MS 35307-338D, MS 35307-340D, or MS 35308-413D.
Installation requires a 7/16-inch open-end, box, or socket wrench. When fastening into tapped aluminum or dissimilar metals, apply an appropriate anti-seize compound to prevent galling, which is common with stainless steel fasteners under torque. Do not mix stainless and carbon steel hardware in the same assembly without evaluating galvanic corrosion risk. Follow equipment manufacturer torque guidelines for the specific assembly.
