The VALUE COLLECTION R63093649 is a slotted spring pin manufactured from grade 420 stainless steel with a bright finish. Slotted spring pins, also called roll pins, are hollow cylindrical fasteners with a lengthwise slot that allows the pin to compress during installation and exert radial force against the bore wall, creating a secure, vibration-resistant fit without adhesives or secondary locking hardware. This pin measures 1-7/8 inches in overall length and 1/4 inch in diameter. It is a standard inch-measurement fastener suited for mechanical assemblies across industrial, HVAC, plumbing, and general trade applications where corrosion resistance is a priority.
Slotted spring pins are used in residential and commercial mechanical assemblies wherever a removable, self-retaining pin is needed to align, lock, or connect components. Common applications include shaft-to-hub connections, clevis and linkage assemblies, bracket positioning, and similar structural joints. Grade 420 stainless steel provides good corrosion resistance in mildly corrosive environments and moderate strength, making these pins appropriate for wet or humid service conditions typical of plumbing and HVAC equipment installations.
Designed as a standard inch-series slotted spring pin for use in commercial and industrial mechanical assemblies requiring a 1/4 inch diameter bore and a 1-7/8 inch pin length.
Slotted spring pins are typically installed using a pin punch and hammer or an arbor press; always select a driver diameter matched to the pin bore to avoid deforming the slot. De-energize or depressurize the assembly before servicing any pinned joint. Ensure the receiving bore diameter is within the specified tolerance for a 1/4 inch spring pin to achieve proper retention force. Inspect the bore and mating components for wear or elongation before reusing or replacing a spring pin.
