The VALUE COLLECTION R52001623 is a nylon insert hex lock nut designed to resist loosening under vibration and dynamic loads. Manufactured from Grade 8 steel with a zinc yellow dichromate finish, this fastener delivers high tensile strength and corrosion resistance in demanding mechanical and structural applications. The 3/8-16 UNC thread size and right-hand thread direction make it compatible with standard fractional fastener systems. At 29/64 inches high and 9/16 inches across the flats, it fits standard 9/16-inch hex tooling. The nylon insert provides a prevailing-torque locking mechanism that does not require secondary locking hardware. Machinists, maintenance mechanics, and assembly technicians commonly install these nuts in equipment, machinery, and structural assemblies.
This nut is suited for industrial, automotive, agricultural, and general mechanical assembly applications where vibration resistance is required. The Grade 8 steel construction makes it appropriate for high-load bolted joints in fabrication and OEM assembly environments. Install using a standard 9/16-inch hex wrench or socket. Ensure mating bolt threads are clean and free of damage before assembly. Tighten to the torque specification required by the joint design and applicable standards for Grade 8 fasteners. The nylon insert is single-use and should not be reused once the nut has been removed from a torqued joint.
