The VALUE COLLECTION R52001028 is a 1/4-20 UNC thread cutting screw designed for fastening into pre-drilled or punched holes in metal materials. Manufactured from 1016-1024 steel with a zinc-plated finish, this screw provides reliable corrosion resistance in light-duty service environments. The flat undercut head sits flush with or slightly below the mating surface, making it well suited for applications where a low-profile seating is required. A Number 3 Phillips drive allows installation with standard hand and power tools. The Type F point features a blunt end with cutting threads that tap into material as the screw is driven, eliminating the need for a pre-tapped hole in many light-gauge metal applications.
This screw is used in sheet metal assembly, electrical enclosures, HVAC equipment housings, and similar light-gauge metal fabrication tasks where a self-tapping fastener is preferred. The 1/4-20 UNC thread and 3/8-inch overall length make it a compact choice for thin-stock applications. Sold in multiples of 100 per minimum order, it is suited for production line use or shop stock replenishment by mechanical and electrical tradespeople.
Designed as a standard UNC thread cutting screw for use in light-gauge metal components and assemblies requiring a flush-mount fastener with a self-tapping Type F point.
Installation is performed by qualified tradespeople using a Number 3 Phillips bit in a hand driver or power driver set to an appropriate torque clutch setting to avoid stripping the drive or overdriving the fastener. Ensure the workpiece is secured before driving. For metal enclosures or electrical panels, de-energize all circuits before beginning fastener work in accordance with applicable NFPA 70 lockout/tagout requirements. Do not reuse thread cutting screws in the same hole after removal, as cutting thread engagement may be compromised.
