The VALUE COLLECTION PM-1420-G is a cross/square pad mandrel designed to hold abrasive sanding pads and similar accessories during surface preparation and finishing work. The mandrel measures 3 inches in length with a 1/4-inch diameter shank and features a 1/4-20 threaded connection for secure pad attachment. This type of mandrel is used with rotary tools, die grinders, and drill chucks to drive cross-style or square-style abrasive pads on metal, wood, plastic, and composite surfaces. Installation and use are straightforward, making it a common consumable for maintenance technicians, fabricators, and general tradespeople working with power tools.
Cross and square pad mandrels are used in light-duty surface finishing applications including deburring, rust removal, paint stripping, and surface blending. The 1/4-20 threaded interface accepts compatible sanding and abrasive pads in standard cross and square pad configurations. This mandrel is suited for workshop and field use wherever a rotary tool or drill is available with a 1/4-inch chuck or collet.
Designed as a standard replacement mandrel for use with cross-style and square-style abrasive sanding pads that accept a 1/4-20 threaded mandrel interface.
Install and remove abrasive pads only when the rotary tool or drill is powered off and fully stopped. Secure the shank firmly in the chuck or collet before operating. Inspect the mandrel for wear or thread damage before each use and replace if deformation is present. Follow the abrasive pad manufacturer's rated maximum RPM to avoid pad failure during operation.
