The VALUE COLLECTION PC123NB-86 is a brass hex nipple reducer designed to connect a 1/2-inch male NPT fitting to a 3/8-inch female NPT port in pressurized piping systems. The hex body allows wrench engagement for a leak-free, torque-controlled assembly. Rated to 1,000 psi and finished in nickel plating for added corrosion resistance, this fitting is suited for plumbing, HVAC, and light industrial piping applications. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of reducer when transitioning between two different pipe sizes within the same threaded piping run. Weighing 0.06 pounds, it is a compact, single-piece brass fitting built for reliable service.
This hex nipple reducer is used in residential and commercial plumbing, hydronic heating systems, compressed air lines, and general-purpose fluid piping where a size reduction from 1/2-inch to 3/8-inch NPT is required. The MNPT x FNPT configuration allows it to thread directly into female-threaded ports or fittings on one end while accepting a male-threaded pipe or fitting on the other. It is appropriate for water, air, oil, and compatible fluid service within its rated pressure range.
Designed as a standard-thread OEM-style replacement or new-installation fitting for any 1/2-inch MNPT to 3/8-inch FNPT threaded piping connection within the rated pressure and fluid compatibility limits of brass and nickel plating.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter in accordance with applicable IPC or local plumbing code requirements. Shut off and depressurize the supply line fully before removing or installing any threaded fittings. Apply appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly. Do not over-tighten; use the hex body with a proper wrench to achieve a secure, leak-free connection without stressing the fitting or mating port.
