The VALUE COLLECTION PC122NB-2 is a 1/8 inch brass hex plug used to seal threaded pipe openings in plumbing, HVAC, and general industrial piping systems. It features a male NPT (MNPT) external thread and a female NPT (FNPT) internal thread, allowing it to function as a reducing or sealing plug depending on installation orientation. Rated to 1,000 psi, this plug handles pressure demands common in commercial and light industrial service lines. A nickel plated finish provides corrosion resistance in wet or humid environments. Plumbers, pipefitters, and HVAC technicians reach for this fitting when capping or reducing small-diameter threaded lines during installation or service work.
This hex plug is suited for residential and commercial piping applications where a 1/8 inch NPT threaded port needs to be sealed or reduced. Typical use cases include capping unused ports on manifolds, valves, pressure gauges, and tee fittings. The hex body allows standard wrench engagement for proper installation torque without slipping. It is commonly used in gas, water, air, and hydraulic lines within code-allowable pressure limits.
Designed as a standard 1/8 inch NPT threaded hex plug compatible with any pipe, valve, manifold, or fitting that uses NPT threads at that size, within the rated pressure and temperature limits of the brass and nickel plated construction.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers, pipefitters, or HVAC technicians following applicable local codes and IFGC or IPC standards for the specific service. Shut off and depressurize the line completely before removing or installing any threaded fitting. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the MNPT threads before tightening. Use a wrench on the hex body to achieve a snug, leak-free fit without overtightening, which can crack brass fittings.
