The VALUE COLLECTION P20045 is a standard clevis pin used to create a removable pivot or hinge connection in mechanical linkages, rod-end assemblies, and actuator systems. The pin measures 3/8 inch in diameter with an overall length of 2 inches and a usable length of 1-27/32 inches. A 5/32-inch cotter pin hole is located near the retaining end to accept a cotter pin or snap ring for positive retention. Constructed from 18-8 stainless steel with an uncoated finish, the P20045 resists corrosion in wet or exposed environments. Machinists, millwrights, and general maintenance technicians install this pin type as a standard fastener component.
The P20045 is suited for use in mechanical assemblies where a secure but removable pivot connection is required. Typical applications include linkage rods, clevis-and-fork assemblies, cylinder rod ends, and control-arm connections in light industrial, agricultural, and maintenance equipment. The uncoated stainless steel construction makes it appropriate for outdoor, washdown, or corrosion-prone environments where zinc-plated carbon steel pins would be inadequate. Sold individually, it fits into standard clevis brackets and fork ends designed for 3/8-inch pin bores.
Designed as a standard 3/8-inch clevis pin for use in mechanical linkage assemblies, clevis-and-fork connections, and cylinder rod-end applications requiring a removable pivot fastener with cotter pin retention.
Installation is typically performed by maintenance technicians or machinists as part of a mechanical linkage assembly. Disengage and de-energize any actuator, cylinder, or moving mechanism before inserting or removing the pin. Insert the pin through aligned clevis and fork bores, then secure with an appropriate cotter pin or snap ring through the 5/32-inch hole to prevent pin walk-out during operation. Inspect the pin bore and mating clevis for wear or deformation before installation.
