The VALUE COLLECTION NG08120 is a galvanized steel pipe nipple designed for threaded piping systems in plumbing, HVAC, and industrial piping applications. Manufactured to Schedule 40 wall thickness, this nipple measures 1-1/2 inches in nominal pipe size and 12 inches in length, with NPT threads on both ends conforming to ANSI/ASME B1.20.1. The galvanized finish provides corrosion resistance in water supply, gas distribution, and general-purpose piping systems. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this component when connecting pipe runs, extending branch lines, or assembling threaded assemblies in both new construction and retrofit work. The part weighs 2.38 pounds.
This nipple is suited for residential and commercial plumbing, fire protection piping, HVAC hydronic systems, and light industrial fluid handling where Schedule 40 wall strength and galvanized protection are specified. It threads directly into standard NPT fittings, valves, and flanges. The 12-inch length makes it appropriate for close-clearance installations where a close nipple or short nipple would be insufficient but a full pipe section is unnecessary. It is a direct fit wherever a 1-1/2-inch NPT threaded nipple is called for.
Designed as a standard replacement or new-installation nipple for any threaded piping system requiring a 1-1/2-inch NPT Schedule 40 galvanized steel nipple at 12 inches in length.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or qualified pipefitters. Shut off and depressurize the supply line before removing or installing any threaded nipple. Apply pipe thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly to ensure a pressure-tight joint. Tighten to hand-tight plus the appropriate number of turns for the pipe size per the fitting manufacturer instructions; do not over-tighten threaded steel connections, as this can crack cast fittings.
