The VALUE COLLECTION NG07060 is a Schedule 40 galvanized steel pipe nipple designed for threaded pipe assemblies in plumbing, HVAC, and industrial piping systems. Measuring 1-1/4 inches in diameter and 6 inches in length, this nipple connects two threaded fittings or extends a threaded pipe run. Threads conform to ANSI/ASME B1.20.1 standards, ensuring consistent fit with standard NPT fittings. The galvanized steel construction provides corrosion resistance for use in wet, damp, or outdoor environments. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters are the primary installers, though experienced maintenance technicians frequently work with fittings of this type.
This nipple is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, gas distribution, and HVAC piping applications where a short threaded extension is required. The Schedule 40 wall thickness handles standard working pressures found in water supply, steam, and low-pressure gas systems. It is commonly used to connect valves, unions, couplings, and other threaded fittings. The 6-inch length makes it appropriate for close-quarter connections where a longer nipple would be impractical but a close nipple would not allow wrench clearance.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use threaded pipe nipple compatible with any 1-1/4 inch NPT-threaded fittings, valves, and couplings conforming to ANSI/ASME B1.20.1 thread standards.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with the International Plumbing Code (IPC) and applicable local codes. Shut off and depressurize the supply line before removing or installing any threaded pipe component. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to male threads before assembly; do not over-tighten, as this can crack fittings or distort threads. For gas service, verify local code acceptance of galvanized steel and have the completed assembly inspected and pressure-tested before returning to service.
