The VALUE COLLECTION NG03040 is a galvanized steel pipe nipple designed for threaded pipe systems in plumbing, gas distribution, and industrial piping applications. Measuring 3/8 inch in pipe size and 4 inches in length, this Schedule 40 nipple is threaded on both ends to NPT standards per ANSI/ASME B1.20.1. The hot-dip galvanized steel construction provides corrosion resistance suitable for water supply, compressed air, and general fluid transfer lines. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting during new construction, system repair, and retrofits where a short close-to-standard nipple run is required.
This nipple fits into residential and light commercial piping systems where 3/8-inch threaded connections are specified. It is commonly used in water supply branch lines, gas supply connections, compressed air distribution, and general industrial fluid lines. The Schedule 40 wall thickness meets standard pressure ratings for typical plumbing and mechanical service conditions. It is appropriate for both above-ground and concealed installations where galvanized fittings are acceptable by local code.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and general-use fitting compatible with 3/8-inch NPT threaded pipe systems, fittings, valves, and couplings in Schedule 40 plumbing and mechanical piping assemblies.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or qualified pipefitter in accordance with applicable local plumbing codes and IFGC requirements where gas service is involved. Shut off the water, gas, or compressed air supply and depressurize the line before making or breaking any threaded connections. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly; do not over-tighten, as this can crack fittings or distort threads. Inspect threads for damage before installation and do not use a nipple with crossed or damaged threads.
