The VALUE COLLECTION NG01040 is a Schedule 40 galvanized steel pipe nipple sized at 1/8 inch nominal diameter by 4 inches in length with threaded ends. This fitting is used to make short pipe-to-pipe or pipe-to-fitting connections in low-pressure fluid and gas piping systems. The galvanized zinc coating provides corrosion resistance for installations in exposed or moisture-prone environments. Threads conform to ANSI/ASME B1.20.1 standards for reliable, leak-resistant makeup with standard NPT fittings. Plumbers and pipefitters install this type of nipple during new construction, maintenance, and retrofit work on water, gas, and general utility lines.
This pipe nipple is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing, HVAC condensate and utility piping, and general industrial fluid conveyance applications. The 1/8 inch nominal size fits into tight-space connections where full-length pipe is impractical. The 4-inch length provides a short but functional extension between two threaded components. It is appropriate for use where galvanized steel is specified by code or system design, including above-ground and in-wall installations where corrosion protection is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-service fitting compatible with 1/8 inch NPT threaded fittings, valves, and pipe in Schedule 40 galvanized steel piping systems.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers or pipefitters in accordance with applicable local codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC) or International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC) where applicable. Shut off and depressurize the system completely before removing or installing any threaded pipe nipple. Apply thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before makeup to ensure a leak-free joint. Do not over-tighten threaded connections on small-diameter fittings, as this can cause cracking in mating cast or malleable iron fittings.
