The VALUE COLLECTION MSPI0-802500-100BX is an 8-32 x 2.5 inch pan head machine screw with a slotted drive, sold in a box of 100. Manufactured from Grade 2 steel with a zinc plating finish, this screw is designed for general-purpose fastening in light- to medium-duty applications. The pan head profile provides a low-profile bearing surface with good drive access. Thread size is 8-32 UNC (Unified National Coarse), and length is measured from under the head. No washer is included. Zinc plating provides basic corrosion resistance in dry or mildly humid environments.
These machine screws are suitable for use in electrical enclosures, HVAC equipment panels, control cabinets, plumbing fixtures, and general mechanical assemblies. The 8-32 UNC thread is one of the most common thread sizes in light-gauge sheet metal and equipment housing applications across residential and commercial trade work. The slotted drive is compatible with flat-head screwdrivers and is commonly found in legacy equipment and panel assemblies. The box quantity of 100 makes this appropriate for job-lot stocking by electrical, HVAC, and mechanical contractors.
Designed as a standard 8-32 UNC machine screw for use in any application requiring an 8-32 tapped hole or nut, including electrical enclosures, HVAC panels, control boards, and general mechanical assemblies.
Installation does not require specialized trade licensing but is commonly performed by electricians, HVAC technicians, and mechanical contractors during equipment assembly or panel servicing. Always de-energize electrical equipment before fastening or removing hardware inside live panels, following NFPA 70E lockout/tagout procedures. Use a flat-head screwdriver sized to the slot width to avoid cam-out and head damage. Do not overtighten into thin sheet metal or plastic standoffs, as Grade 2 steel may strip threads in softer base materials.
