The VALUE COLLECTION MSFI05005000-025BX is a 1/2-13 x 5-inch flat head slotted machine screw designed for general mechanical fastening applications. Made from Grade 2 steel with a zinc plating finish, it provides moderate corrosion resistance suitable for indoor and light-duty outdoor assemblies. The screw features a Unified National Coarse (UNC) thread form at 1/2-13, meaning 1/2-inch nominal diameter with 13 threads per inch. The flat head profile allows the fastener to sit flush with or below the surface of the mating material. Overall length is 5 inches, measured end to end, with a full 5 inches of usable length under the head. Sold in a minimum order quantity of 25 pieces.
This fastener is used across a wide range of trade and industrial applications including HVAC equipment assembly, electrical panel and enclosure fabrication, plumbing fixture mounting, and general structural fastening where a flush-seating screw is required. The slotted drive is compatible with standard flathead screwdrivers and slotted bit sets. Grade 2 steel is appropriate for non-critical static load connections where high tensile strength is not required. The zinc plating offers a base level of corrosion protection for typical indoor service environments.
Designed as a general-purpose UNC machine screw for use with 1/2-13 coarse-thread nuts, inserts, and pre-tapped holes in standard inch-measurement assemblies.
Installation is performed with a standard flathead screwdriver or slotted drive bit; use a bit sized to fill the slot fully to avoid cam-out and head damage. Ensure the mating threaded hole or nut is clean and free of debris before driving. Apply appropriate thread lubricant or anti-seize compound if fasteners will be exposed to moisture or temperature cycling. Follow applicable torque specifications from the equipment manufacturer or relevant codes such as ASME or NEC for structural and electrical enclosure applications.
