The VALUE COLLECTION MSFI0-300370-100BX is a 3-48 UNC flat head slotted machine screw intended for light-duty mechanical fastening applications. Manufactured from Grade 2 steel with a zinc-plated finish, this screw delivers basic corrosion resistance suitable for indoor and sheltered environments. The flat head profile sits flush with or below the mating surface when installed in a countersunk hole, making it a clean choice for panels, brackets, and enclosures. The slotted drive accepts a standard flat-blade screwdriver. Overall length is 3/8 inches, measured from tip to top of head, with the full 3/8 inches counted as the usable length under the head for this head style.
This screw is commonly used in light mechanical assemblies, electrical enclosures, control panels, and sheet metal work where a flush fastener profile is required. The 3-48 thread size is a fine, small-diameter imperial thread suited for thin material applications and precision assemblies. Electricians, HVAC technicians, and general maintenance trades routinely use this size when securing terminal strips, small brackets, and panel components. This SKU ships in a box quantity of 100 screws per order minimum.
Designed as a standard 3-48 UNC flat head slotted machine screw compatible with any tapped hole or nut conforming to the 3-48 UNC thread standard in inch-measurement fastener applications.
Installation requires a countersunk or flat-bottomed hole to seat the flat head flush; use the correct countersink angle matched to the screw head geometry. A flat-blade screwdriver sized to the slot width is required — an oversized or undersized blade can cam out and damage the slot. De-energize any electrical equipment before fastening screws into live panels or enclosures, in accordance with NFPA 70E lockout/tagout procedures. Do not overtighten — Grade 2 steel has lower tensile strength than higher-grade fasteners and the small 3-48 diameter is susceptible to thread stripping under excessive torque.
