The VALUE COLLECTION MSC-67570846 is a 4-40 UNC machine screw designed for light-duty fastening applications requiring corrosion resistance and a low-profile head. The pan head profile distributes clamping load across a wider bearing surface than flat or oval heads, making it well suited for thin sheet metal, plastic panels, and electronic enclosures. Finished in a bright, uncoated surface, this screw accepts a standard Phillips driver and is manufactured from 18-8 stainless steel for solid corrosion resistance in damp or mildly corrosive environments. Licensed contractors, electrical installers, and general maintenance technicians commonly use fasteners of this type during equipment assembly and panel work.
This 4-40 x 3/16-inch pan head screw is used in residential and light commercial applications wherever a small-diameter, fine-thread fastener is needed. Typical uses include securing circuit boards, control panels, junction box covers, instrument housings, and other assemblies where a Phillips drive and corrosion-resistant material are required. The 3/16-inch length under head suits shallow-clearance fastening into tapped holes or with mating nuts. Sold in a minimum order quantity of 100 pieces per order, making it appropriate for shop stock or production assembly.
Designed as a standard 4-40 UNC machine screw compatible with any tapped hole, threaded insert, or hex nut conforming to 4-40 Unified National Coarse thread specifications.
Installation requires a Phillips screwdriver or bit sized for a number 1 or number 2 Phillips tip appropriate to the 4-40 head. Ensure the mating tapped hole or nut is clean and free of debris before driving. Do not overtighten stainless steel fasteners into stainless threaded holes without anti-seize compound, as galling can occur. Power down any electrical equipment before fastening into or near energized panels.
