The VALUE COLLECTION MS24693-C16 is a flat head Phillips drive machine screw conforming to the MS24693 military and aerospace fastener standard. It is threaded 2-56 with an overall length of 0.125 inches and is manufactured from 18-8 stainless steel with a passivated finish. The passivation process removes free iron from the surface, improving corrosion resistance without altering dimensions or mechanical properties. These screws are sold in minimum quantities of 100 units per order and are well suited for precision assembly applications where a flush-seating fastener is required.
This screw is used in light-duty mechanical assemblies, electronic enclosures, instrument panels, and control components where a small-diameter stainless fastener is specified. The flat head profile seats flush with or below the mating surface when installed in a countersunk hole. Typical applications include HVAC control boards, electrical panel components, and precision equipment where the MS24693 fastener standard is called out in engineering documentation. The 2-56 thread designation is a fine-pitch unified coarse thread at the No. 2 diameter, appropriate for thin-material and close-tolerance assemblies.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or specification fastener for any assembly calling out an MS24693-standard 2-56 flat head Phillips machine screw in stainless steel.
Installation is performed by a qualified assembler or technician using a Phillips screwdriver or bit sized for a No. 2-56 screw. De-energize and lock out any electrical assembly before installing or removing fasteners in or near live components. Avoid over-torquing small-diameter machine screws in thin or soft base materials, as 18-8 stainless can gall in stainless-threaded holes without lubrication. Use a thread-locking compound or appropriate insert if the mating thread is in aluminum or plastic.
