The VALUE COLLECTION MP34292 is a 1/4-20 serrated flange nut manufactured from Grade 2 steel with a zinc-plated finish. The integrated serrated flange distributes clamping load across a wider bearing surface and bites into the mating material to resist loosening from vibration without requiring a separate lock washer. The flange diameter measures 0.594 inches and the overall nut height reaches 0.236 inches. This fastener follows the inch system of measurement and ships in a package quantity of 25. It is suited for general mechanical assembly work performed by HVAC technicians, plumbers, electricians, and maintenance professionals across residential and commercial applications.
This serrated flange nut is used in light-duty structural and mechanical assembly where a secure, vibration-resistant connection is needed on 1/4-20 threaded fasteners. Typical applications include equipment panels, mounting brackets, conduit support hardware, ductwork frames, and similar trade installations. The zinc-plated finish provides a basic level of corrosion resistance appropriate for indoor and protected outdoor environments. Each package contains 25 nuts, making it practical for service vans, job boxes, and shop stock.
Designed for use with any standard 1/4-20 inch-series threaded bolt or stud in general mechanical and structural assembly applications.
Installation is performed by hand-threading onto a mating 1/4-20 fastener, then driving to the specified torque with a wrench sized to the 0.428 to 0.438 inch width-across-flats dimension. De-energize or shut down any associated equipment before servicing fastened assemblies on live electrical, HVAC, or plumbing systems. The serrated face must seat flush against the mating surface to engage properly — do not use between two hardened surfaces where the serrations cannot bite. Follow applicable NEC, IFGC, or IPC guidelines when this fastener is used as part of a code-governed installation.
