The VALUE COLLECTION MDB241 50X15 is a Class 150 malleable iron hex bushing designed to reduce a 2-inch threaded pipe connection down to a 1/2-inch threaded port. Hex bushings are standard reducing fittings used throughout gas, water, and compressed-air piping systems where a concentric thread reduction is needed without adding pipe length. This fitting is rated to 150 psi and connects via threaded ends on both the male and female sides. The malleable iron construction with a black finish provides the durability required for industrial and commercial pipe runs. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this type of fitting during new construction and retrofit work.

This hex bushing is suited for residential and commercial plumbing, HVAC hydronic piping, gas distribution piping, and general industrial pipe systems where a 2-inch to 1/2-inch threaded reduction is required. Installation Notes

Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with applicable codes such as the IPC or IFGC. Apply an approved thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads before assembly, and tighten with a pipe wrench on the hex body. Do not over-tighten or use the fitting body as a lever point, as malleable iron can crack under excessive bending stress.
