The VALUE COLLECTION L79NE2816-1210 is a 3/4-10 UNC hex lock nut with a nylon insert locking mechanism, manufactured from Grade 316 stainless steel with a bright, uncoated finish. The nylon insert deforms slightly around mating threads when torqued down, creating resistance to loosening caused by vibration or thermal cycling. At 7/8 inches in height and 1-1/16 inches across the flats, this nut fits standard 3/4-10 UNC bolts and threaded rod. Grade 316 stainless steel provides elevated corrosion resistance compared to Grade 304, making it suitable for wet, chemical, or marine-adjacent environments. Installation is performed by mechanics, pipefitters, and maintenance technicians working on structural or mechanical assemblies.
This hex lock nut is used in applications where fastener loosening under vibration or repeated loading is a concern. Grade 316 material makes it a common choice for coastal or outdoor installations, chemical processing environments, pool and spa mechanical assemblies, and marine equipment. The right-hand thread direction follows standard UNC fastener convention. It is sold individually and is appropriate for both new construction and maintenance or replacement work on threaded assemblies requiring corrosion-resistant hardware.
Designed for use with 3/4-10 UNC right-hand threaded bolts, screws, and threaded rod. Verify that mating fasteners are also Grade 316 stainless steel or a compatible alloy to avoid galvanic corrosion in wet service conditions.
Install using a 1-1/16 inch wrench or socket. Power down or de-energize any equipment before working on fastened assemblies in electrical or mechanical enclosures. Nylon insert lock nuts are generally considered single-use — the nylon element loses clamping effectiveness after removal and should be replaced rather than reused. Follow applicable mechanical or structural codes for torque class requirements on the assembly being serviced.
