The VALUE COLLECTION KP7896-1 is an open end blind rivet designed for one-sided fastening applications where access to the back of the work material is not available. The aluminum body pairs with a steel mandrel to deliver reliable clamp force without excessive weight. The large flange dome head distributes load across a wider surface area, reducing the risk of pull-through in softer or thinner base materials. With a body diameter of 0.125 inches, a grip range of 0.251 to 0.375 inches, and a tensile strength of 315 pounds, this rivet is suited for light structural and sheet-metal assembly work. Installers require a standard blind rivet tool matched to a 0.125-inch body diameter.
This rivet is used in residential and commercial sheet-metal fabrication, HVAC ductwork assembly, light structural panel attachment, and general manufacturing applications where a flush-driving, large-flange head is needed to secure aluminum or similar thin-gauge materials. The open end design allows material deformation on the blind side to form a mechanical lock. Each package contains 100 rivets, making it suitable for moderate-volume production runs or field service kits. The bright finish on the rivet body and phosphate finish on the mandrel help resist surface corrosion during storage and normal service conditions.
Designed as a standard open end blind rivet for use with hand-operated or pneumatic rivet tools that accept a 0.125-inch body diameter mandrel. Compatible with applications calling for an IFI Grade 19 fastener in aluminum body with steel mandrel construction.
Installation is performed by a mechanic, sheet-metal technician, or HVAC installer using a hand or pneumatic blind rivet tool. Drill the work material to a hole diameter between 0.129 and 0.133 inches using a Number 30 bit before driving the rivet. De-energize or lock out any powered equipment before fastening rivets to live assemblies. Do not exceed the stated grip range, as under- or over-length engagement reduces clamp load and can cause mandrel fracture at an unintended point.
