The VALUE COLLECTION KP7857 is an open end blind rivet with a countersunk head, designed for flush or near-flush fastening in sheet metal, light fabrication, and assembly work. The body and mandrel are both aluminum, making this rivet well suited for lightweight structural and non-structural joining where corrosion resistance and weight savings matter. The body diameter is 0.125 inches (1/8 inch), the head diameter is 0.375 inches (3/8 inch), and the grip range runs from 0.251 to 0.375 inches. Tensile strength is rated at 240 pounds and shear strength at 155 pounds. Sold in a package of 250, this rivet is a standard shop consumable for sheet metal mechanics, HVAC installers, and light fabricators.
The KP7857 is used in residential and light commercial applications where blind installation is required and a low-profile countersunk head is preferred for a flush surface finish. Typical installs include ductwork panels, equipment enclosures, access doors, electrical junction boxes, and light structural assemblies. The countersunk head seats flush when installed into a properly chamfered or pre-dimpled hole, eliminating protrusion that could interfere with mating surfaces or aesthetics. The bright aluminum finish is appropriate for indoor and dry-to-moderate-exposure environments.
Designed for use in pre-drilled holes sized between 0.129 and 0.133 inches in diameter, corresponding to a No. 30 drill size. Compatible with standard manual and pneumatic blind rivet tools that accept 1/8-inch body diameter rivets.
Installation is performed with a standard blind rivet tool sized for 1/8-inch body rivets. Drill the pilot hole to between 0.129 and 0.133 inches using a No. 30 drill bit and deburr before installation. For countersunk applications, chamfer or dimple the hole to match the head angle so the rivet seats flush. Ensure material stack thickness falls within the 0.251 to 0.375 inch grip range before setting the rivet to achieve proper mandrel break and clamp load.
