The VALUE COLLECTION KP720 is a 5/16-18 serrated flange nut manufactured from 18-8 stainless steel. The integrated serrated flange distributes clamping load across a wider bearing surface and bites into the mating material to resist loosening under vibration. The flange diameter measures 0.68 inches with a flange height of 0.283 inches and a nut height ranging from 0.268 to 0.283 inches. Width across flats ranges from 0.489 to 0.500 inches. These nuts are suited for mechanical assembly, HVAC equipment mounting, electrical enclosures, and plumbing fixture applications where a standard hex nut with a separate washer would otherwise be required. Each package contains 50 pieces.
The KP720 serrated flange nut is used in residential and light commercial trade applications wherever a vibration-resistant fastener is needed without adding a separate lock washer. Common install scenarios include equipment panel assembly, conduit support hardware, piping bracket attachment, and general mechanical fastening in corrosion-prone environments. The 18-8 stainless steel construction makes it appropriate for indoor and outdoor applications where mild corrosion resistance is required. The inch-standard 5/16-18 UNC thread suits the widest range of American-standard hardware.
Designed as a standard 5/16-18 UNC serrated flange nut suitable for use wherever an inch-series flange nut is specified in mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, or electrical assembly applications.
Installation does not require specialty tooling — a standard 1/2-inch open-end wrench or socket is appropriate for this nut size. Ensure mating threads are clean and free of debris before assembly. In electrical or HVAC panel work, de-energize all circuits before fastening hardware near energized components. Do not over-torque stainless steel fasteners, as galling can occur; consider applying an anti-seize compound when torque requirements are critical.
