The VALUE COLLECTION KP44056 is a 3/8-16 x 6 inch Grade 8 steel hex head cap screw designed for high-strength fastening applications. Partially threaded along its shank and finished with a zinc plating for basic corrosion resistance, this fastener meets ASTM A354 BD standards, which specifies mechanical and material requirements for quenched and tempered alloy steel bolts intended for structural and mechanical service. The Unified National Coarse (UNC) thread form is the most widely used inch-series thread standard in North American trade work. This screw is used by millwrights, pipefitters, HVAC mechanics, electricians, and general trade professionals wherever a high-strength, partially threaded inch-series bolt is required.
This fastener is suited to applications where clamping force and shear resistance are priorities, such as equipment mounting, structural steel connections, machinery assembly, and mechanical supports. The 6 inch length under head accommodates thick material stacks or applications requiring a long grip length. Partial threading leaves a smooth shank in the grip zone, which is preferred when the bolt passes through clearance holes in structural members or equipment frames. Sold in a package quantity of 25.
Designed as a standard 3/8-16 UNC hex head cap screw for use in any application calling for a Grade 8, partially threaded fastener of this thread size and length.
Installation is performed by millwrights, HVAC mechanics, pipefitters, or general trade professionals using a 9/16 inch open-end, box-end, or socket wrench. Always confirm the mating thread is clean and free of damage before installation. Grade 8 fasteners should be torqued to the value specified by the equipment manufacturer or applicable structural engineering specification — do not substitute a lower-grade fastener in a Grade 8 application. Zinc-plated finishes are not rated for prolonged outdoor or high-humidity exposure; consult project specifications when corrosion resistance is a design requirement.
