The VALUE COLLECTION KP35020 is a zinc-plated, extended prong cotter pin manufactured from Grade 2 steel. It measures 5/32 inches in diameter and 1-1/2 inches in length. Extended prong cotter pins are used to secure clevis pins, shaft ends, and fastener assemblies in mechanical and industrial applications. The zinc plating provides basic corrosion resistance in light-duty environments. This pin is installed by inserting it through a drilled hole and bending the prongs outward to lock the assembly in place. Electricians, millwrights, HVAC technicians, and general maintenance professionals commonly use these pins when securing linkages, actuators, and control rod assemblies.
This extended prong cotter pin is suited for residential and light commercial mechanical assemblies where a positive locking fastener is required. Typical applications include HVAC damper linkages, actuator clevis connections, valve rod assemblies, and general equipment maintenance. The extended prong design provides additional material for bending, making it easier to secure and remove compared to standard prong styles. Sold individually per package with a minimum order quantity of 250 units, making it appropriate for maintenance shops and service fleets that keep fastener stock on hand.
Designed as a standard extended prong cotter pin suitable for use in mechanical linkages, clevis assemblies, and control rod connections where a 5/32 inch diameter locking pin is required.
Installation requires no special tools beyond standard needle-nose pliers for bending the prongs after insertion. Always de-energize or lock out any mechanical system before removing or installing cotter pins in actuator or linkage assemblies. Bend each prong in opposite directions for maximum retention. Do not reuse a cotter pin that has been previously bent, as metal fatigue reduces holding strength.
