The VALUE COLLECTION KP35015 is an extended prong cotter pin used to secure clevis pins, shaft assemblies, and mechanical fastener connections in light-duty industrial, HVAC, plumbing, and general trade applications. Manufactured from Grade 2 steel with a zinc-plated finish for basic corrosion resistance, the pin measures 0.125 inches in diameter and 2 inches in usable length. After insertion through a drilled hole, the prongs are spread apart to lock the assembly in place. Installation requires no special tools and takes only seconds, making this pin a practical choice for technicians who need a reliable, low-cost mechanical locking solution in the field.
This cotter pin is suited for residential and light commercial equipment where clevis pins, linkage rods, or actuator assemblies require a positive mechanical lock. Common applications include HVAC damper linkages, valve actuator connections, pump linkages, and general mechanical assemblies where a removable locking fastener is needed. The zinc-plated finish provides a baseline level of corrosion protection for indoor and protected outdoor installations. This SKU is sold individually and carries a minimum order quantity of 250 units, making it appropriate for shop stock or service van restocking.
Designed as a standard 0.125 inch extended prong cotter pin for use in any light-duty mechanical assembly that accepts a 1/8 inch cotter pin in clevis, linkage, or shaft-retention applications.
Cotter pins are installed by a qualified technician using needle-nose pliers or a cotter pin tool. Before servicing any assembly, de-energize associated electrical circuits and relieve any hydraulic or mechanical tension on the connected components. Insert the pin through the drilled hole fully before spreading the prongs. Prongs should be bent in opposing directions against the face of the assembly to prevent backing out during operation. Do not reuse a previously bent cotter pin.
