The VALUE COLLECTION JY9036815 is a straight flute tap designed for cutting M20x2.5 metric coarse internal threads in through-holes and blind holes where a bottoming chamfer is required. Manufactured from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish, this tap provides reliable thread-cutting performance in a range of ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features four flutes and a right-hand thread direction, with a 6H class of fit and D7 thread limit for standard metric tolerance requirements. Overall length is 4-15/32 inches with a 2-inch thread length. Machinists, tool and die makers, and maintenance technicians use this tap in manual tapping and machine tapping applications.
This tap is suited for production and maintenance environments where metric coarse M20x2.5 threads are required in blind holes or applications needing threads cut close to the bottom of a hole. The bottoming chamfer — typically 1 to 2 thread lead — allows full threads to be formed near the base of a blind bore. It is appropriate for use in general metalworking, equipment repair, and fabrication operations. The right-hand cut and 6H fit make it compatible with standard M20x2.5 metric fastener assemblies. No coolant-through capability is present, so conventional flood or manual lubrication applies during use.
Designed as a standard OEM-style replacement or direct-use tap for M20x2.5 metric coarse thread applications conforming to 6H fit tolerances in general metalworking and maintenance operations.
This tap is installed by machinists or maintenance technicians using a tap wrench, tapping head, or CNC/manual machine spindle. Always ensure the tap is aligned perpendicular to the workpiece surface before engagement to avoid thread distortion or tap breakage. Use an appropriate cutting fluid or tapping compound for the workpiece material to extend tap life and improve thread finish. Secure the workpiece firmly before tapping and back the tap out periodically to clear chips from the flutes.
