The VALUE COLLECTION IRG-34-BKN is a flexible rubber grommet designed to protect wiring, tubing, and cables where they pass through panels, enclosures, or bulkheads. Made from rubber with a hardness rating of 50-60 Shore, this grommet seats into a punched or drilled hole and creates a clean, cushioned pass-through that prevents chafing and insulates against vibration. The outside diameter measures 1-1/16 inches with an overall thickness of 11/32 inches. The inside slot diameter is 13/16 inches and the slot width is 1/8 inch, allowing the grommet to snap around an existing wire or line without full disassembly. Electricians, HVAC technicians, and plumbers install this type of grommet wherever conductors or tubing exit metal cabinets, junction boxes, or equipment panels.
This grommet is suited for residential and light commercial applications where a flexible, push-in or snap-in edge protection is needed. Common installation scenarios include electrical enclosures, HVAC unit panels, control boxes, and sheet metal fabrications where bare edges could damage insulation or tubing. The black color blends with standard panel finishes. Each unit ships in packages of 25, making this item practical for service trucks and shop stock where multiple installations are anticipated on a single job.
Designed as a general-purpose flexible rubber grommet for use in electrical enclosures, HVAC equipment panels, plumbing penetrations, and sheet metal assemblies requiring a 1-1/16 inch outside diameter opening.
A licensed electrician or qualified technician should de-energize all circuits and confirm zero voltage before working inside any enclosure where this grommet is installed. Ensure the panel hole is clean, burr-free, and sized to match the 1-1/16 inch outside diameter for a proper seat. The slot design allows the grommet to be pressed around an existing cable, but do not force the grommet over conductors in a way that damages insulation. Installation work inside electrical enclosures should comply with applicable NEC requirements for the jurisdiction.
