The VALUE COLLECTION ICT36270D is a solid carbide, on-edge threading insert designed for cutting 60-degree V-thread forms on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Built from submicron-grade solid carbide with a bright, uncoated finish, this insert delivers consistent thread geometry without the heat buildup associated with coated grades in certain materials. The 5/8-inch inscribed circle (IC) and 1/4-inch thickness place it in the TNMC insert style family. It is suited for machinists and toolroom operators who need a reliable, general-purpose threading insert for standard 60-degree thread profiles in steel, aluminum, and similar workpiece materials.
This insert is used in on-edge threading toolholders configured for 60-degree V-thread cutting. Typical applications include external and internal threading operations on turning machines in job shops, production environments, and maintenance/repair machining. The uncoated, bright finish makes it a practical choice for non-ferrous metals and applications where coating adhesion to the chip is a concern. The TNMC insert style seats in compatible on-edge threading toolholders designed for that geometry. Manufacturer grade I55 and submicron carbide material grade indicate a fine-grain substrate suited for sharp edge retention on thread flanks.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-fit insert for on-edge threading toolholders accepting TNMC-style inserts with a 5/8-inch inscribed circle and 60-degree V-thread geometry.
Threading inserts of this type are installed and indexed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing the insert. Use the appropriate torque wrench and insert key specified by the toolholder manufacturer to secure the clamping screw — do not over-tighten by hand. Inspect the insert seat and shim for damage or chip contamination before each insert change to maintain thread accuracy.
