The VALUE COLLECTION ICR39520C is a solid carbide, uncoated round turning insert designed for use on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Built to ANSI and ISO code RD1003M0, this insert features a round (R) shape with a 5/8 inch inscribed circle and a 1/8 inch thickness. The Grade I55 carbide substrate is suited for general-purpose turning where an uncoated bright finish is preferred for reduced built-up edge on certain workpiece materials. A screw-holding method and positive side clearance promote secure seating and clean chip flow during turning operations.
This insert is intended for turning applications on materials classified under primary workpiece material code P, which corresponds to steel and steel alloys in standard turning insert nomenclature. The 15-degree relief angle makes it appropriate for finishing and medium turning passes. Machinists and CNC tooling technicians working in job shops, production environments, or maintenance machining will find this insert a straightforward fit for standard OD turning tool holders designed for round inserts at this inscribed circle size. The material grades C5 and C6 indicate suitability for steel cutting at moderate to higher cutting speeds.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard-stock turning insert for round-insert tool holders accepting an RD1003M0 ANSI or ISO insert with a 5/8 inch inscribed circle and a 0.190 inch hole diameter.
Installation is performed by a machinist or CNC tooling technician. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or replacing inserts. Use the appropriate torx or hex key to secure the clamping screw to the tool holder manufacturer's specified torque without over-tightening the insert seat. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surface for chips or debris before installing a new insert to ensure proper support and repeatable tool geometry.
