The VALUE COLLECTION ICR39400H is a solid carbide, uncoated round turning insert designed for precision metal cutting on CNC and manual lathes. Conforming to ANSI insert code RD431 and ISO code RD, this insert features a round (R) shape with a 0.5 inch (12.70 mm) inscribed circle and a 0.125 inch thickness. The positive side clearance and 15-degree relief angle reduce cutting forces and help manage heat at the cutting edge. Grade I22 carbide provides a balance of hardness and toughness suited to a range of turning operations. Installation is by screw-holding method. Sold individually with a minimum order quantity of 10.

This insert is intended for turning operations on workpiece material groups K (cast iron), M (stainless steel), N (non-ferrous metals), and S (superalloys and heat-resistant materials). It is suited for both roughing and finishing passes depending on feed rate and depth of cut selection. Typical applications include external and internal diameter turning on production or job-shop lathes where an uncoated carbide grade is preferred for sharp edge retention or for non-ferrous and exotic alloy work.

Installation Notes

Round carbide turning inserts are installed and replaced by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine before changing inserts. Use the correct torque driver for the clamping screw to avoid cracking the insert or stripping the screw seat. Inspect the insert pocket and shim for damage or debris before seating a new insert, and confirm proper insert orientation and indexing before resuming cuts.
