The VALUE COLLECTION ICP73512D is a solid carbide turning insert designed for precision lathe and turning center operations. It carries the ANSI insert code CCMT32.52 and ISO insert code CCMT09T308, identifying it as an 80-degree diamond (rhombic) shaped insert with a positive side clearance and a 7-degree relief angle. The insert features an Al2O3 (aluminum oxide) coating in manufacturer grade ICP22, which improves wear resistance and thermal stability during cutting. Screw-type insert holding secures it firmly in compatible toolholders. This insert is installed and indexed by machinists and toolroom technicians working with CNC or manual turning equipment.
This insert is suited for turning applications on non-ferrous metals and cast materials, consistent with primary workpiece material codes K and N. The 80-degree included angle provides a strong cutting edge with good versatility across external and facing operations. The T-style chip breaker geometry helps manage chip flow during moderate-depth turning passes. It is used in production and job-shop environments wherever consistent, repeatable insert geometry is required. This product is sold individually per package, with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
Designed for use in CCMT-style screw-on turning toolholders accepting a 32.52 insert size with a 0.173 inch hole diameter. Verify toolholder specification against ANSI code CCMT32.52 or ISO code CCMT09T308 before ordering.
Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the machine fully powered down and the spindle locked. Use the correct torque wrench and insert screw specified by the toolholder manufacturer — do not overtighten, as this can crack the carbide. Inspect the insert pocket for wear or debris before seating a new insert. Follow shop safety procedures and equipment manufacturer guidelines when changing cutting inserts.
