The VALUE COLLECTION ICP70510L is a WNMG432P solid carbide turning insert with an Al2O3 (aluminum oxide) coating and the ICP22 manufacturer grade. It features an 80-degree trigon (W-style) insert shape with a negative side clearance and a 0-degree relief angle. The inscribed circle measures 0.5 inches and the corner radius is 0.03125 inches. Insert thickness is 0.1875 inches. This insert is designed for CNC and manual turning applications and is installed by machinists and tooling technicians in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is suited for turning operations on cast iron and non-ferrous materials, corresponding to ISO workpiece material codes K and N. The ICP22 grade with Al2O3 coating provides wear resistance in these applications. The WNMG-style geometry uses a clamp and pin holding method, making it compatible with standard WNMG toolholders used in both roughing and finishing passes on lathes and turning centers.
Designed for use in standard WNMG432-style toolholders. Compatible with turning applications on workpiece materials classified under ISO codes K (cast iron) and N (non-ferrous metals). Holding method requires a toolholder equipped for clamp and pin retention.
Insert installation and indexing should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered off and the spindle locked. Use the correct torque wrench or insert key specified by the toolholder manufacturer when seating the clamp. Inspect the insert pocket and clamp for wear or debris before seating a new insert. Follow the toolholder manufacturer guidelines for proper clamp and pin engagement to avoid insert movement under cutting loads.
