The VALUE COLLECTION ICP65140H is a solid carbide turning insert designed for precision metal-turning operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Conforming to ANSI insert code VBMT330.5 and ISO insert code VBMT160402, this insert features a 35-degree diamond (rhombic) shape and a positive side clearance geometry. The manufacturer grade is TCN55, suited for a range of turning applications. The inscribed circle measures 0.375 inches, insert thickness is 0.1875 inches, and the corner radius is 0.008 inches. The insert is held in place by a screw-clamp method and is intended for use by machinists and tooling technicians in production and job-shop environments.
This turning insert is appropriate for use in both light and medium-duty turning operations. The VBMT insert style with a 5-degree relief angle and positive clearance geometry is commonly applied to external turning, facing, and profiling on CNC turning centers. The TCN55 grade is suited for machining steel and stainless steel workpiece materials, corresponding to primary workpiece material codes M and P. The chip breaker designation is T, which supports controlled chip formation during continuous cuts. Each package contains one insert, with a minimum order quantity of 10 pieces.
Designed for use in VBMT-style toolholders that accept a 3/8 inch inscribed circle insert with a screw-clamp (hole diameter 0.173 inches) retention method, conforming to ANSI size code 330.5 and ISO size code 160402.
Insert replacement should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician with the machine powered down and spindle fully stopped. Use the appropriate torx or hex key specified by the toolholder manufacturer to secure the clamping screw to the correct seating torque. Inspect the insert pocket and seating surfaces for chips or debris before seating the new insert. Handle carbide inserts carefully to avoid chipping the cutting edge prior to use.
