The VALUE COLLECTION ICP27760M is a solid carbide turning insert designed for precision metal cutting on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. Conforming to ANSI code DNMG542 and ISO code DNMG190608, this insert features a 55-degree diamond (rhombic) shape with a negative side clearance geometry. The inscribed circle measures 5/8 inches (0.6250 inches), insert thickness is 1/4 inch (0.2500 inches), and the corner radius is 1/32 inch (0.0312 inches). Manufacturer grade TCN55 with a G-style chip breaker makes this insert well suited for turning operations on steel and stainless steel workpiece materials. It is installed and replaced by machinists and CNC operators in production and job-shop environments.
This insert is intended for turning applications on primary workpiece material codes M and P, covering austenitic stainless steels and carbon and alloy steels. The DNMG insert style uses a clamp and pin holding method, making it compatible with standard DNMG-style toolholders. Typical applications include external turning, facing, and profiling passes where consistent chip control and edge geometry are required. The G chip breaker geometry supports a range of depths of cut and feed rates common in general turning work.
Designed for use in DNMG-style toolholders that accept a 5/8-inch inscribed circle, 1/4-inch thick insert with a 0.2500-inch hole diameter and clamp-and-pin holding. Compatible with ANSI insert code DNMG542 and ISO insert code DNMG190608 toolholder seats.
Turning insert replacement is performed by machinists following standard lockout and machine-stop procedures before accessing the toolholder. Use the appropriate torque wrench and insert clamp hardware specified by the toolholder manufacturer when seating the insert. Inspect the insert pocket and clamp for debris or wear before installing a new insert. Never apply side force to index or remove the insert, as this can damage the pocket seating surface.
