The VALUE COLLECTION IBNRG-20-BKN is a Buna-N rubber grommet designed to protect wiring, tubing, and cables where they pass through metal panels, enclosures, or bulkheads. The grommet seats into a punched or drilled hole, creating a cushioned edge that prevents abrasion and insulates conductors from sharp metal. With a 1-1/8 inch outside diameter and a 5/8 inch inside diameter, it fits standard panel cutouts in electrical enclosures, HVAC equipment cabinets, and control panels. The 5/16 inch overall thickness and 7/8 inch slot diameter allow secure seating in typical sheet metal gauges. Hardness is rated at 45-55 Shore A, providing firm retention without cracking or cold-flow under normal service conditions.
This grommet is suited for use in electrical panels, HVAC unit cabinets, plumbing equipment enclosures, and light industrial equipment wherever wiring or tubing must be routed through a metal partition. Electricians, HVAC technicians, and equipment assemblers commonly install this type of grommet during rough-in, equipment service, or panel build-out. The black Buna-N material offers good resistance to oils, fuels, and common shop fluids, making it appropriate for mechanical and equipment rooms as well as field service work.
Designed as a standard OEM-style rubber grommet for use in sheet metal electrical enclosures, HVAC equipment cabinets, plumbing equipment housings, and general industrial panel assemblies requiring a 1-1/8 inch OD grommet seat.
De-energize all electrical circuits and shut off any fluid or gas supply before opening enclosures or panels for grommet installation. Ensure the panel hole diameter matches the grommet slot diameter of 7/8 inch for a secure, rattle-free fit. Press the grommet firmly into the panel cutout by hand; no tools are typically required, but a smooth-edged installer tool may be used to avoid tearing the rubber. Verify the installed grommet fully contacts the panel face around its entire perimeter before routing conductors through.
