The VALUE COLLECTION GH8862062 is a solid pilot counterbore designed for precision hole finishing in metalworking and machining applications. Built from high speed steel, this tool creates accurate counterbored holes for socket head fasteners and similar hardware. It features a 0.242 inch cutting diameter, a 0.150 inch standard pilot diameter, and a straight cylindrical shank measuring 7/32 inch in diameter. The three-flute geometry provides clean, consistent material removal with forward cutting direction. Machinists, tool and die workers, and production shop technicians use this tool in drill press and milling machine setups where controlled counterbore depth and concentricity are required.
This counterbore is sized for Number 6 fastener compatibility, making it suitable for creating clean seating surfaces for Number 6 socket head cap screws and similar fasteners in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It is appropriate for light-duty production work and maintenance machining in both job shop and industrial environments. The straight cylindrical shank allows direct chucking in standard drill chucks or collet holders without adapters in common configurations.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option compatible with Number 6 fastener applications requiring a 0.242 inch counterbore diameter and a 0.150 inch pilot diameter in straight-shank drill press or milling machine setups.
This tool is installed by machinists and tool and die technicians in drill press or milling machine spindles using a standard drill chuck or appropriate collet holder sized for a 7/32 inch shank. Always bring the machine spindle to a complete stop before mounting or removing the tool. Secure the shank with adequate grip depth to prevent pullout under cutting load. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine manufacturer guidelines for speeds and feeds when operating high speed steel cutting tools.
