The VALUE COLLECTION GH8840381 is a 4-flute interchangeable pilot counterbore designed for precision spot-facing and counterboring operations in metal fabrication and aerospace-style applications. Machined from high speed steel with a bright, uncoated polished finish, this tool delivers clean, accurate seats for socket-head cap screws and similar fasteners. The straight shank measures 0.25 inches in diameter, and the counterbore cutting diameter is 0.594 inches (19/32 inches). Overall length is 2.8125 inches (2-13/16 inches). The interchangeable pilot system accepts a 0.125 inch (1/8 inch) pilot shank, allowing the pilot to be swapped for different hole sizes without replacing the body. Right-hand cutting direction is standard.
This counterbore is suited for aircraft-style machining work and general metalworking where a separate counterbore body and interchangeable pilot configuration is required. Typical applications include creating flat-bottomed recesses in aluminum, steel, and similar metals prior to fastener seating. The 4-flute geometry produces a smooth finish on the counterbore floor. This tool is used by machinists, tool-and-die makers, and aerospace maintenance technicians working on structural assemblies, fixtures, and component repairs requiring precise fastener recessing.
Designed as an OEM-style interchangeable pilot counterbore for use with standard 1/8 inch diameter pilots in aircraft-style counterbore sets and general metalworking counterbore systems.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance technicians familiar with cutting tool safety. Secure the straight shank firmly in a drill press chuck or milling machine collet before operation, and verify the pilot is fully seated and locked before cutting. Always bring the workpiece to a full stop before changing pilots or inspecting the counterbore. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine manufacturer guidelines for speeds and feeds when using high speed steel cutting tools.
