The VALUE COLLECTION FHS1X0640-025BX is a metric flat socket cap screw designed for flush or countersunk fastening applications in mechanical assemblies and structural connections. It features a 90-degree flat head with a 4.00 mm hex socket drive, an M6x1 thread size, and an overall length of 40.00 mm. The screw is partially threaded and manufactured from 18-8 austenitic Grade A2 stainless steel, providing strong corrosion resistance suitable for wet, chemical, or outdoor environments. It conforms to DIN 7991 standards. This fastener is installed by machinists, millwrights, maintenance technicians, and field service professionals working with metric hardware.
This flat socket cap screw is used wherever a countersunk, low-profile head is required and the fastener must sit flush with or below the mating surface. Common applications include equipment panels, machine guards, jigs and fixtures, pumps, enclosures, and assemblies exposed to moisture or mild corrosives where stainless steel is specified. The partial threading allows for accurate clamping and controlled engagement in through-hole and tapped applications. It is well suited for both light industrial and precision mechanical work requiring metric DIN-standard hardware.
Designed as a DIN 7991-compliant metric flat socket cap screw for use in any application requiring an M6x1 thread pitch and a 40.00 mm overall length with a countersunk hex socket head.
Installation requires a 4.00 mm hex key or Allen-drive bit. Ensure the receiving hole is properly countersunk to the correct 90-degree angle to achieve full head seating. Apply appropriate torque using a calibrated torque wrench per the assembly specification for M6 stainless fasteners; avoid over-torquing, as stainless steel fasteners are susceptible to galling. Anti-seize compound is commonly applied to stainless threads to prevent galling during installation and future removal.
