The VALUE COLLECTION FHS1X0440-025BX is a metric flat socket cap screw designed for flush or countersunk fastening applications in mechanical assemblies, fixtures, and fabricated components. Manufactured from 18-8 austenitic stainless steel to Grade A2, this fastener offers solid corrosion resistance in wet, chemical, or outdoor environments. The 90-degree flat head seats flush with the workpiece surface when installed into a properly countersunk hole. Drive engagement is via a 2.50 mm hex socket, requiring an appropriate Allen key or hex bit driver. The M4x0.7 thread pitch and 40 mm overall length make it suitable for moderate-depth fastening tasks where a clean surface profile is required. This screw is partially threaded per DIN 7991 standards and is sold in a minimum order quantity of 25 pieces.
This fastener is used across a wide range of industries including light mechanical assembly, HVAC equipment panels, electrical enclosures, plumbing fixture mounting, and general fabrication. The flush-head design is preferred wherever protruding fastener heads would interfere with mating surfaces, covers, or moving components. Installers working on stainless or aluminum panels commonly specify Grade A2 hardware to avoid galvanic incompatibility and surface staining. The metric M4x0.7 thread standard is consistent with ISO and DIN hardware used in European-specification equipment and many OEM assemblies.
Designed as a DIN 7991 metric flat socket cap screw for use in any application requiring an M4x0.7 countersunk hex-socket fastener. Suitable for use in equipment, panels, and assemblies specifying 18-8 or Grade A2 stainless steel hardware.
Installation is performed by mechanics, assemblers, or field technicians using a 2.50 mm hex key or hex bit driver. The mating hole must be properly countersunk to a 90-degree included angle to achieve full flush seating. Do not overtorque stainless steel fasteners, as galling can permanently seize the thread; anti-galling compound is commonly applied in high-cycle or precision assemblies. Follow applicable equipment manufacturer torque guidelines for M4 fasteners when available.
