The VALUE COLLECTION CA6044U61 is a Type 1 (flat) aluminum oxide cutoff wheel designed for ferrous metal cutting in grinding and cutting applications. Measuring 6 inches in diameter and 0.06 inches thick with a 1/2 inch arbor hole, this wheel mounts on circular saws and compatible right-angle grinders. The resinoid bond holds the 60-grit aluminum oxide abrasive grain through demanding cuts, and the reinforced fiberglass construction helps the wheel resist breakage under lateral stress. With a maximum operating speed of 10,200 RPM, it suits standard corded saws and grinders within that speed range. Installers and fabricators working with steel rely on this wheel for fast, controlled severing cuts.
This cutoff wheel is rated for cutting steel and is suited for use in fabrication shops, mechanical rooms, and field service environments. Its Type 1 straight profile is the standard configuration for plunge and chop cuts through bar stock, pipe, conduit, strut, and sheet metal. The 6 inch diameter and 1/2 inch arbor size are common to many bench-mounted and handheld circular saws used by electricians, pipefitters, HVAC techs, and general metal fabricators. The 60-grit rating balances cutting speed with wheel life for production-level work on mild and carbon steel.
Designed for use with circular saws and right-angle grinders with a 1/2 inch arbor and a maximum spindle speed at or below 10,200 RPM. Rated application material is steel per specification A60O US.
Cutoff wheels must be mounted and operated by personnel familiar with abrasive wheel safety per ANSI B7.1 guidelines. Before mounting, verify the tool spindle speed does not exceed the 10,200 RPM wheel rating — never use a wheel on a tool that exceeds its marked maximum speed. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before each use and discard any damaged wheel immediately. Always use the appropriate flange and arbor hardware for a secure, centered mount, and ensure guards are in place before operation.
