The VALUE COLLECTION C8888037 is a Morse taper socket used to adapt and extend Morse taper tooling in machine shop and industrial drilling applications. Morse taper sockets allow a smaller taper shank tool to be seated into a larger spindle or quill, maintaining alignment and secure tool holding during operation. These sockets are a standard component in lathe, drill press, and milling setups where taper-to-taper adaptation is required. Licensed machinists and toolroom technicians rely on this type of adapter to expand the range of tooling compatible with a given machine spindle.
Morse taper sockets are used in both light manufacturing and production machine shop environments. They are suited for drill presses, lathes, and milling machines that accept Morse taper tooling. These sockets are a practical solution when a tool shank taper is smaller than the machine spindle taper and a reducing or extending adapter is needed to maintain proper fit and concentricity.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard adapter for machine tools accepting Morse taper shank tooling.
Morse taper sockets are installed by machinists or toolroom technicians. Power down and lock out the machine spindle before seating or removing taper sockets. Ensure both the socket bore and the tool shank taper are clean and free of chips or debris before seating, as contamination will affect concentricity and holding force. Remove using a drift key through the spindle drift slot — do not strike the tool or socket directly.
