The VALUE COLLECTION C88121 is an open end blind rivet with a dome head profile, steel body, and steel mandrel, designed for structural fastening applications where access is limited to one side of the workpiece. Sized at 812, this rivet features a 1/2 inch head diameter, a 1/4 inch body diameter, and a grip range of 0.626 to 0.875 inches, making it suitable for joining materials of varying combined thickness. With a tensile strength of 1,550 pounds and a shear strength of 1,270 pounds, it delivers reliable holding power in metal fabrication, HVAC ductwork, enclosures, and general sheet metal assembly. The mandrel carries a phosphate finish for corrosion resistance during installation. Each package contains 50 rivets.
This rivet is used across residential and light commercial applications wherever blind-side installation is required. Common scenarios include fastening sheet metal panels, HVAC equipment housings, electrical enclosures, and structural brackets where a bucked or solid rivet is impractical. The 0.257 to 0.261 inch hole diameter range means a drill size F bit produces the correct clearance. Installers in HVAC, electrical, and general metal fabrication trades rely on open end blind rivets of this type for fast, repeatable joints without access to the back face of the assembly.
Designed as a standard open end blind rivet for use with any rivet tool accepting size 812 rivets requiring a drill size F hole (0.257 to 0.261 inch diameter). Meets IFI Grade 30 fastener standards.
Installation is performed by sheet metal workers, HVAC technicians, electricians, and general fabricators using a hand-operated or pneumatic blind rivet tool sized for 1/4 inch body diameter rivets. Before riveting, drill the mating holes to the correct diameter using a drill size F bit and deburr as needed. Ensure all workpieces are clamped securely to prevent panel shift during mandrel pull. Spent mandrels eject during setting and should be collected to prevent debris hazards in the work area.
