The VALUE COLLECTION C88114 is an open end blind rivet with a dome head, aluminum body, and aluminum mandrel. Sized at code 84, it is designed for use where only one side of the workpiece is accessible during fastening. The body diameter is 0.25 inches, and the rivet accepts a grip range of 0.02 to 0.25 inches, making it suitable for joining materials of varying stack thickness. The minimum hole diameter is 0.257 inches and the maximum is 0.261 inches, corresponding to drill size F. Tensile strength is rated at 560 pounds and shear strength at 460 pounds. The bright finish aluminum construction keeps weight low while resisting corrosion in typical indoor and light-duty outdoor applications. Each package contains 50 rivets.
This rivet is commonly used in sheet metal fabrication, HVAC duct assembly, light structural assembly, electrical enclosure work, and general manufacturing applications where a clean dome head profile and blind installation are required. The aluminum body and mandrel combination is well suited for joining aluminum, sheet steel, and similar thin-gauge materials. The 0.5-inch head diameter distributes clamping load across a broad surface area, reducing the risk of pull-through in softer base materials.
Designed for use in applications requiring a 0.257 to 0.261-inch hole diameter, consistent with drill size F, and conforming to IFI 114 Grade 11 fastener standards.
Blind rivets of this type are installed using a standard rivet gun or pneumatic rivet tool sized for 0.25-inch body diameter rivets. Always drill the pilot hole to the correct diameter range (0.257 to 0.261 inches) before installation to ensure proper mandrel pull and flange formation. Wear appropriate eye protection during installation, as the mandrel stem will eject upon setting. Follow applicable codes and project specifications when using fasteners in structural or load-bearing assemblies.
