The VALUE COLLECTION C87748-12 is a 15/64 inch (0.2344 inch) jobber-length drill bit built for heavy-duty drilling in steel and cast iron. Manufactured from M7 high speed steel with a black and gold oxide coating, this bit offers solid wear resistance in production and maintenance drilling applications. The 135-degree split point geometry reduces walking on entry and requires less thrust than a conventional 118-degree point. Overall length is 3-7/8 inches with a 2-5/8 inch flute length. The straight cylindrical shank seats in standard three-jaw chucks. Sold in a package of 12 bits, this SKU suits shops and field technicians who need consistent spares on hand.
This bit is intended for drilling ferrous metals including mild steel and cast iron in both shop and field environments. The right-hand cut, regular spiral flute design clears chips efficiently in through-hole and blind-hole operations. The web-thinned, tapered web configuration reduces cutting resistance at the tip, making the bit well suited for hand-fed drill presses, CNC drilling, and portable electric drills where operator control is important. The 12-piece pack format supports tool crib stocking, service van kits, and production cell replenishment.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or stock drill bit for use in standard three-jaw chucks accepting a 15/64 inch (0.2344 inch) straight shank, compatible with drill presses, CNC drilling machines, and portable electric drills configured for right-hand cut tooling.
A licensed machinist or qualified maintenance technician should verify chuck condition and runout before seating the bit. Power down and lock out the machine before changing tooling. Secure the straight shank fully within the chuck jaws and confirm concentricity before beginning a cut. Do not exceed the speed and feed parameters recommended for the workpiece material and bit diameter.
