The VALUE COLLECTION C38149 is a pan head Phillips drive machine screw designed for general mechanical fastening in light industrial, electrical, and trade applications. Sized at 8-32 x 2.5 inches, this fastener uses Unified National Coarse (UNC) threading and is manufactured from 18-8 stainless steel with an uncoated finish. The pan head profile offers a low-clearance bearing surface and wide contact area suitable for flat or pre-drilled substrates. Length is measured under the head. No washer is included. Electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, and millwrights commonly use fasteners of this type when assembling panels, brackets, and enclosures where corrosion resistance is required.
This machine screw is suited for residential and light commercial applications where stainless steel fasteners are preferred for corrosion resistance in damp or outdoor-adjacent environments. Typical installations include electrical panel mounting, equipment enclosure assembly, HVAC bracket fastening, and general mechanical assembly. The Phillips drive is compatible with standard #2 Phillips bits and screwdrivers. This screw is sold in a minimum order quantity of 50 pieces.
Designed as a standard 8-32 UNC machine screw for use with any tapped hole, threaded insert, or nut conforming to 8-32 Unified National Coarse thread specifications in the inch measurement system.
De-energize and lock out any electrical panel or equipment before fastening hardware in or around live components. Use a #2 Phillips screwdriver or bit to drive this screw; avoid cam-out by applying firm axial pressure during installation. Do not over-torque stainless steel fasteners, as the material is susceptible to galling when threads are driven too fast or dry. For metal-to-metal applications, a thread lubricant or anti-seize compound may be used to reduce galling risk.
