The VALUE COLLECTION C36888 is a nylon insert hex lock nut manufactured from 18-8 stainless steel. It measures 9/32 inches in height with a 13/32-inch width across flats. The nylon insert collar compresses against the mating thread to resist loosening from vibration, torque cycling, and thermal expansion. This is a UNC-thread, right-hand-turn fastener sold in a package of 50 pieces. Licensed electricians, plumbers, HVAC technicians, and mechanical contractors use nylon insert lock nuts wherever a secure, corrosion-resistant threaded connection is required in equipment assemblies, panel mounting, and piping supports.
This lock nut suits residential and light commercial applications where stainless steel corrosion resistance is necessary — pool equipment enclosures, coastal HVAC installations, plumbing support structures, and electrical panel assemblies exposed to moisture. The 18-8 stainless steel grade resists oxidation in humid and wet service environments. The UNC thread standard makes it compatible with the most common inch-series fastener systems used across HVAC, plumbing, and electrical trades in North America. The 50-piece packaging supports service stock replenishment and small-batch fabrication work.
Designed for use with UNC inch-series threaded fasteners across HVAC equipment mounting, plumbing support structures, electrical enclosures, and general mechanical assemblies requiring a corrosion-resistant nylon insert lock nut.
Installation does not require power isolation unless the nut is being used in an energized electrical panel — always de-energize and lock out equipment before working inside live enclosures. A standard hex wrench or socket matching the 13/32-inch across-flats dimension is sufficient for seating. Do not reuse nylon insert lock nuts after removal, as the insert deforms on first installation and will not provide reliable locking force on re-torque. Follow applicable NEC, IPC, or IFGC fastener requirements for the specific system being serviced.
